Explore Patonga
Patonga accommodation puts you in the tranquil ‘sleepy fishing village’, Patonga is the southernmost beach on the Central Coast. Upon entering this tranquil bayside town, to the north you will find the local boat ramp with fishing boats anchored just off the beach. Patonga Beach is in pristine condition in every sense of the word. The beach is unpatrolled but due to the calm waters, Patonga accommodation provides a great place for families to swim, play or have a picnic.
Patonga Inlet lies at the southern end of the beach and is popular with families who have children in tow, while Patonga Creek is ideal for exploring, with interesting estuarine mudflats that are brimming with marine life. Patonga is an angler’s paradise, whether it’s dropping a line in off the wharf or boating out into the expansive waters of the Hawkesbury River or Broken Bay. Follow the northern bank around to the local caravan and camping park – Patonga Camping Area. Facilities include electric BBQ’s, amenities block, boat ramp and tennis courts for hire.
Bordering the town is the beauty of the Brisbane Waters National Park. This expansive reserve borders the Hawkesbury River and contains scenic sandstone landscapes and Aboriginal rock art. The park is an ideal spot for bushwalking and bird watching and offers terrific, sweeping lookouts, particularly from Staples Lookout and closer to town, from Warrah Lookout.
Located opposite Patonga wharf is Patonga Fish and Chip shop, General Store, and Patonga Beach Hotel which offers an extensive beer and wine selection, great outdoor beer garden and delicious seafood platters, direct from the hotel’s own fishing trawler.
